Loch Coruisk

We will take a boat or two out of Elgol, Isle of Skye to the tiny Scavaig River to stunning Loch Coruisk.  Some of us will hike, some will decide to stay on the boat, take in the views and look for sea life.

Kayaking

If the weather is calm, we'd head to the north end of the island, put in at Arnish then paddle across the dolphin-filled bay to Eilean Fladday.

Hike to Inver

There are a several wonderful hikes on Raasay.  One starts at the ruins of an old croft and goes through field, then heath, then forest to the ruins of the coastal village of Inver... where the Queen used to skinny dip as a young woman.  Lovely trip!

Hike to Hallaig

This hike has beautiful vistas at pretty much every turn, with lots of sheep watching to be had along the way.  Starts at a farm and ends at the ruins of the village of Mallaig.  Interesting history and can be a much longer hike if you so choose.

Tour Dunvegan Castle

It's a big, impressive castle in the Scottish Highlands.  Need we say more?  Well, yes, ok. The Raasay House van will take you to this gem, which we may combine with another stop or two on Skye.

Explore Portree

Portree is a beautiful town with just about anything you could want - art, pubs, shopping, a cool port, an estuary, parks (we recommend a stroll through The Lump), pubs and more.

We plan to arrange a tour of the distilleries on Skye and Raasay.  We will also have a Scotch (and probably gin) tasting evening at the Raasay House.

Hikes!

I'm pretty sure I could spend an entire summer hiking the Isle of Skye and not do them all.  We are unsure if we will organize an "official" hike on Skye, but for those of you who want to organize an outing, there are sure to be new friends who will want to join you!

We love you all so much and are so excited to celebrate with you!
